Itinerary:
Early Morning Pick-Up (5:00 AM): You’ll be picked up early from your hotel in Kigali and driven to Volcanoes National Park.
Registration and Briefing (7:00 AM): Upon arrival at the park headquarters, register for the trek and attend a briefing session with park guides who will provide information on the golden monkeys and trekking protocols.
Guided Trek into the Forest (8:00 AM): Embark on a guided trek through the dense bamboo forests of Volcanoes National Park, led by an experienced tracker. The trek can take between 1-2 hours depending on the location of the monkeys.
Golden Monkey Observation (10:00 AM): Spend one hour observing these rare and playful primates in their natural habitat. Watch as they swing from trees and forage on the forest floor, while your guide shares insights about their behavior.
Picnic Lunch in the Park (12:30 PM): Enjoy a packed picnic lunch amidst the natural beauty of the park, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the forest.
Cultural Tour (2:00 PM): Visit a nearby village to experience Rwandan culture and traditions. You’ll have the opportunity to see traditional dances, learn about local crafts, and interact with the community.
